The TLS Tunnel APK uses a simple protocol called TLSVPN. Furthermore, it can generate an internal IP address for each user connected, allowing them to communicate with each other.

A single drop-down menu lists all its services. As an alternative to using an SNI, you can also customize the start screen with text, which is useful when dealing with restrictions imposed by Internet providers and networks.

In addition, this app supports importing and exporting settings for connection methods. You can export the configuration file with the extension .tls, which contains all the information you need (except for the DNS and connection options, such as reconnection and internal IP exposure). For whoever imports it, you can set up a message that won't be visible or editable after export.

What is a TLS tunnel?

All data sent over a TCP connection is encrypted using Transport Layer Security (TLS). A TLS tunnel provides a more secure protocol across the Internet, allowing the MFT IBM I Platform Server product to encrypt all data sent between clients and servers.

Features and subscription

There are many server locations offered by TLS Tunnel, such as Singapore, the United States, Canada, Brazil, and Germany. Various ports can also be accessed through it. Users can connect to less congested servers by viewing the server list, which shows how much stress a server is experiencing. Set up a password for your own servers via the Private Server feature if you have set up your own servers via the SSH kit.

Users can select a light or dark theme in the Settings tab. Additionally, users have the option to exclude certain programs from using the VPN using the App Filter setting. Furthermore, a Compression feature can compress data to improve network speeds at the cost of greater power consumption. Additionally, it supports CPU WakeLock, which allows it to continue running in the background when downloading.

Freemium is the model followed by this VPN. While there is no bandwidth restriction, free users are only able to connect to a server for a limited period of time. To reconnect, users can watch ads after consuming the allotted time. As part of the revenue-generating process, the program displays ads, but they are not intrusive and are removed once you subscribe to a premium account. However, despite its robust feature set, it still lowers network speeds.

Features of the TLS Tunnel app:

  • Interface with a minimalist design;
  • One-click IP address change;
  • The connection that is secure;
  • There are a lot of settings.

How does it work?

  • Firewalls are connected to SSL tunnels first via TCP tunnels
  • The client will then attempt to exchange a UDP DTLS tunnel once it is fully established
  • Traffic will be transmitted over TLS tunnels during DTLS conciliation
  • Data now transfers over the DTLS tunnel and the SSL tunnel is only used for infrequent control channel traffic once the DTLS tunnel is fully recognized
  • In the event of catastrophes during the creation of the DTLS Tunnel, traffic will continue to pass over the TLS Tunnel
  • Once DTLS is created, traffic will be authorized over the TLS tunnel in the event of DTLS tunnel failure until the DTLS tunnel is restored

How Data is Forwarded?

  • The AnyConnect client code determines whether to direct packets over TLS or DTLS based on a percentage for each packet
  • The code will proceed with the packet over DTLS if the DTLS tunnel is known
  • The code will advance the packet over TLS and lead encryption if the DTLS is inflexible
  • DTLS tunnel efficiency is the main factor
  • Due to DTLS's use of UDP, it is unpredictable, and there is no flow control to ensure its efficiency
  • Even if DTLS is strong, the firewall will respond based on the receipt tunnel, so if packets are acknowledged over TLS, the reply will be over TLS.

What about Idle timeout?

As DTLS Tunnels are the only tunnels where idle timeout stuff since very little control channel traffic is allowed through SSL Tunnels, they are mostly eternally idle, so they are relieved while DTLS Tunnels are functioning. If something went wrong with UDP and the DTLS Tunnel was dragged down, then idle timeout would affect SSL.
